Alice Leona Murray entered this world April 22, 1912 and departed June 25, 2010 at age 98 years, 2 months, 3 days. Alice was born and raised in LuVerne, Iowa by her parents Clara and Fred Wolf, along with her two sisters and brother, who have all preceded her in death.
Alice was a Registered Nurse until she retired in 1978. She married her high school sweetheart, Robert O. Murray on December 30, 1934. They had 6 children, with 4 surviving: Patricia, Roberta and her husband Robert Simon all of California, Richard and his wife Ruth of Indiana, and Jean of Oregon. She is also survived by two married grandchildren, Jennifer and her husband David Ribble, and Benjamin and Jennifer Murray and great grandson Cameron, all of Indiana.
During their 43 years of marriage, Alice and Bob moved frequently due to his employment with National Cash Register Co. Bob passed away October 2, 1978, the day before they were to move to Arizona to retire. Alice did move to Arizona where she resided 22 years before moving to Auburn, CA in 2000. Alice enjoyed her family, the outdoors, camping, traveling, bowling, and playing cards with family and friends, watching baseball games, the slot machines, playing pool, playing the piano, cross word puzzles and math, and bible studies and church activities. Alice enjoyed life to the fullest, especially when with family and friends. She put joy into the lives of everyone who knew her. She was a loving mother and will be missed by her children and family more than words can express.
