Alice M. Severson, 87 of Humboldt passed away on Tuesday morning, June 23, 2020 at her daughter’s home in Norwalk.
She and her twin brother Art were born August 9, 1932 in Rutland. She was born to Jens and Anna (Jensen) Pedersen. She was raised in Humboldt and graduated from Humboldt High School. Alice was united in marriage to Richard Severson on April 27, 1958. The couple made their home in Thor and then on a farm near Bradgate for over 30 years before retiring and moving to Humboldt. Alice worked in the kitchen at the North Care Center for many years. She was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, the American Legion and VFW Auxiliary, Birthday Club and the Ladies Circle.
She is survived by her children David R. Severson of Chicago, Anita K. Prince of Gretna, Nebraska and Karla (Dick) Michaelis of Norwalk, her grandchildren Joey, Jens (Liz), Joshua, Christine, Matt, Mike, Megan (Jeter), Katie (Mark) and Erin and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard, daughter Lisa, son-in-law Jeff, her brothers Alvin, Donald, Richard “Val” and Arthur and four sisters-in-law, Delva, Ann, Maida and Jackie.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 27th with visitation at 12:00 noon at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Humboldt. The church requests that you please wear a mask. Burial will be in Northlawn Cemetery, Fort Dodge.
