Alice J. Warner, 92, of Humboldt passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital.
She was born on April 27, 1927 in Humboldt, the daughter of Thomas and Hannah (Hansen) Christensen. She was raised on a farm and graduated from Humboldt High School then taught in a one room school house for a time. Alice then moved to Washington D.C. and worked as a switch board operator. She met John E. Warner and they were united in marriage on February 27, 1951. They had lived in North Carolina, California and then making their final home in Humboldt in 1963. She then worked for Dr. Pride and later worked as a mental health advocate. Alice loved bowling, bingo and collecting antiques.
She is survived by her children Wanda Warner of Dakota City and J. Thomas Warner of West Des Moines, her grandson Brandon Jon Warner and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, her sisters Luella Joiner, Leonne Hollar, Bernice Cox and Irene Windrath, her brothers Floyd “Buck” Christensen, Alfred “Bob” Christensen and Donald Christensen
Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday September 30th at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service in Humboldt. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 1st at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service in Humboldt. Burial will be in Indian Mound Cemetery.
