Andrew James Mennenga, 22, died May 28, 2012 due to a traffic accident. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday June 5th at the Immanuel United Church of Christ in Latimer, IA. Visitation will be from 5 – 8 p.m. Monday at the church. The Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home of Humboldt is in charge of arrangements.
Andrew was born Nov. 9, 1989 in Mason City, Iowa. The family lived in the Latimer area where Andrew attended the CAL/Dows School through the eighth grade. The family then moved to Humboldt where Andrew went to school and graduated from High School from the Humboldt Community School. After graduation he attended Iowa Central Community College majoring in Diesel mechanics. During high school he was active in FFA earning the star chapter award and he enjoyed helping build a home through the building trades course in high school. Andrew started working at Red Power during his sophomore year of high school and continued to work there until his death. His first love was farming and this was his first year of renting some land on his own plus helping his grandfather farm his land. Andrew was seen wearing his red Case IH clothing most of the time so if you have any Case IH clothing you are encourage to wear it to the funeral.
Andrew is survived by his father; Michael (Ronda) Mennenga of Klemme, his mother; Tamara (boyfriend Doug Jorgensen) Mennenga of Thornton; brothers Ray (Shannon) Mennenga of Mason City and Cole Mennenga of Thornton; grandparents Art and Sally Mennenga and Lawerence and Janet Meyer; and special extended family Lisa, Anne, Alan and Paula Jorgensen, Aunts and Uncles; Kay Meyer, Susan and Pete Grett, Brenda Mennenga, Rocky Mennenga, Henry and Dianne Mennenga, Jerry Mennenga, Ken and Lydia Mennenga, Ann Mennenga, Tami and Dave Goodale, David Donaghy; great-grandmother, Gerri Trebil; step-grandparents, Larry and Mary Donaghy and many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his great grandparents Ervin and Margaret Meyer.
