Anna Dodrill, 77, of Humboldt, passed away November 21, 2017 at her home in Humboldt. A Celebration of Anna’s Life will be 1-4 p.m. Sunday, November 26, 2017 at the Community Center of Phase II, Humboldt Homes. The Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Anna Lynch, the daughter of Robert and Ethel (Carpenter) Lynch, was born February 1, 1940 at Webster Springs, West Virginia. She was raised and educated at Webster Springs. At the age of 14, she was united in marriage to Jennings P. Dodrill. The couple made their home in many places around the world while he served in the military. Following his honorable discharge, they returned to West Virginia before moving to Lansdale, Pennsylvania. The family then moved to Ottosen, Iowa where Anna owned and operated a grocery store before they moved to the Brinkley, Arkansas area. They then moved to Buckannon, West Virginia where Mr. Dodrill passed away in 2007. In 2008, Anna moved to Humboldt and in 2011, made her home at Humboldt Homes.
Anna enjoyed playing the slot machines at The Wild Rose Casino in Emmetsburg. She also enjoyed watching MASH reruns and playing card and board games. She enjoyed listening to country music with her friend and neighbor, Evelyn, gardening and traveling with Jennings. Her family will always remember her as a feisty and loving mother and grandmother who had a special gift of taking care of her dying relatives.
Anna is survived by her children, Jennings Robert “Bobby D” (Belinda Humpal) Dodrill of Rolfe and Barbara (Chris) Cocoma of Humboldt; 8 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; sister, Linda Frame of Ohio; God son, Robert Walker of Texas; and adopted daughter, Ruthie Dyer of Humboldt.
