Anna Marie Foster, 91, of Humboldt passed away on Saturday evening, October 9, 2021 at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital.
She was born May 1, 1930 in Burt, Iowa the daughter of Harry and Anna (Hennings) Sankey. She grew up in the Burt area and attended country school there. She worked with her family on the family farm and on March 23, 1947 was united in marriage to Robert N. Foster. The couple made their home in Burt and later Algona where they raised their family. Anna worked for Pioneer Seed Company and later Van’s Café in Algona. She moved to Humboldt in 2004 and enjoyed time with her family, gardening, bingo, board games, baking and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events.
She is survived by her daughters Patricia Cole of Algona, Grace (Gary) Weaver of Burt, Deborah Foster of North Branch, Minnesota, Ann Graham of Algona and Roberta (Paul Stockfleth) Foster of Humboldt, thirty-five grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and her sister Maude Sankey Bower of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, her brothers Henry, Andrew, August and Harry Sankey, her sisters Norma Johnson and Viola Kobrigera and her infant grandchildren Howard Myhre and Jodi Hanson and her great-grandson Joshua.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 14th at Faith United Methodist Church in Humboldt. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 13th at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service, Humboldt. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Irvington.
