Anna Torgerson, 72, of Humboldt, passed away August 28 at the Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday at Our Saviours Lutheran Church in Humboldt with the Rev. Gene Broughton officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Humboldt. Visitation with the family will be from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt.
Mrs. Torgerson is survived by her son, Chad of Humboldt; daughter, Tricia (Jeff) Gargano of Humboldt; grandchildren Jayden, Ty, Tori, Michael, Abbey, and Austen Gargano of Humboldt; brothers, Kenny (Marilyn) Nielsen of Humboldt and Jens (JoAnne) Nielsen of Oelwein; sisters, Nancy (Rodger) Lenning of Humboldt and Debra (Gary) Crist of Minnetonka, MN; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Richard.
Anna M. Nielsen, the daughter of Chris and Thora (Jensen) Nielsen, was born August 31, 1935 at Chicago, IL. When she was two the Nielsen family moved to Humboldt where she attended country school until 5th grade, Dakota City School until 7th grade, and later graduated from Humboldt High School in 1953. Anna was employed by the First National Bank and worked there for 20 years until retiring to raise her children. On September 12, 1965 she was united in marriage to Richard Torgerson and from that union came two children, Chad and Tricia. Mrs. Torgerson was a member of Our Saviours Lutheran Church and the Humboldt Country Club. She enjoyed reading and following Humboldt High School and University of Iowa Athletics, as well as spending time with her grandchildren and family.
