Arlene Moritz

Arlene Moritz, 97, of Humboldt passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2021.
Arlene was born on December 23, 1923 in Terrill, Iowa the daughter of August and Mildred (Willard) Schnell. She grew up and was united in marriage to Louis Moritz on April 9, 1950. The couple made their home in Humboldt where Louis drove a DX Tankwagon for Sun Oil Company and Arlene was his in home bookkeeper and took orders from the customers.
Arlene was a member of Zion Lutheran Church where she was a church organist for many years and was a past president of the LWML. She sang in the church choir and was a Sunday school teacher for many years.
She is survived by her children, Jerry Moritz and David (Diane) Moritz, her grandchildren, Nicki (Matt)Johnson, Nina, Melody and Mackenzie, and her great grandchildren, Bryar Johnson, Kaylin and Jackson Shamon, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Louis, and a brother and sister.
Private services will be on Monday, February 22, 2021 at 10:00 am at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral home in Humboldt. Burial will be on Tuesday February, 23 at St. John’s Lizard Cemetery, Palmer, IA www.mason.lindhart.com
