Arlene Camilla Olson, 93, of Bode passed away at Long Term Care at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital in Humboldt.  Funeral services will be 10:30am Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at the St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Bode.  Internment services will be at the St. Olaf Lutheran Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Monday, September 21, 2009 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Bode.
Arlene Camilla Olson, the daughter of Albert and Selma (Bakken) Opheim, was born on August 11, 1916 on the family farm southeast of Bode.  She attended country schools in Bode where she graduated from high school.  Following her education, Arlene worked for area families.  She married Allan Olson in 1940 at Mason City, Iowa.  Allan and Arlene made their home on the family farm in Bode where they farmed together all their married life.  Allan died in 1997 and Arlene continued to make her home there until becoming a resident at Long Term Care in Humboldt.  Arlene was a member of the St. Olaf Lutheran Church and was active in WELCA.  She enjoyed gardening her vegetables, sewing, and baking.  She especially loved sharing her coffee and cookies in the afternoon with her friends and family.
Arlene Olson is survived by her two sons, Kenneth (Sharon) Olson of Bode and Leslie (Mary) Olson of Bode; grandchildren, Jeffery (Mary Beth) Olson, Denise (Jamie) Heidt, Kevin Olson, James Olson, and Erin Olson; great-grandchildren, Justin Olson, Jordan Olson, Morgan Olson, Jaden Heidt, Jacey Heidt; sisters, Inez Loss of Rolfe and Ruth (Wayne) Engels of Vincent.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Allan; brothers, Barnett and Merle; and sisters Verna and Phyllis.
