Arlene P. Tille, 74, of Rutland, passed away August 19, 2010 at the Pula J. Baber Hospice House in Fort Dodge. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. – noon Saturday at the Faith United Methodist Church in Rutland. Following visitation, the Tille family will greet friends and relatives for a reception celebrating the life of Arlene at Rutland City Hall. The Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home of Humboldt is in charge of arrangements.
Arlene is survived by her husband, Joseph of Rutland; children, Jolene (Kerry) Coleman of Livermore, Joel (Susie) Tille of Laguna Niguel, CA, Greg (Jennifer) Tille of Humboldt, and Les Tille of Humboldt; grandchildren, PFC James “Derek” Tille, PFC Jordan Tille, Lucas Tille, Kayla Tille, and Harrison Tille; step-grandchildren, Minde, Jason, and Jessica; 4 step great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Alvina Beek; brother-in-law, Paul Lewis; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Marlen Lewis and Norma Forrett; and brother, Harold Beek.
Arlene Phyllis Beek, the daughter of Harrie L. and Alice (Lursen) Beek, was born February 3, 1936 on their family farm near Little Rock, Iowa. She graduated from Adrian High School in 1954 and began working at the Safeway egg department in Adrian, Minnesota. She was united in marriage to Joseph David Tille on June 2, 1962 and to this union four children were born.
Arlene served as the City Clerk for the town of Rutland for over 20 years and was very active in the Rutland Town and Country Club. She was also a founder of the Northwest Regional Land Fill and was heavily involved in the community of Rutland. She will be remembered for riding her golf cart around town and spending countless hours at Rose Mill Park.
