Barbara R. Anderson

Barbara R. Anderson, 83, of Humboldt passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at the North Care Center in Humboldt.


Barbara was born on September 29, 1937 in Livermore, the daughter of Roy and Mildred (Satern) Enockson. She grew up in Ottosen and attended and graduated from Ottosen High School in 1955. She was united in marriage to Merlin Anderson on June 23, 1957. The couple later divorced. She worked as a switchboard operator for the telephone company prior to becoming a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her family, quilting, sitting outdoors on a windy day and Iowa Hawkeye basketball.


She is survived by her son Jim (Marva) Anderson of Humboldt, daughter Lori (Steve) Cherry of Prescott Valley, Arizona, grandchildren Brady and Brooke Anderson and Jaclyn and Michael Cherry. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Joan Shelgren and infant daughter Stacy.


Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 9th at 2:00 p.m. at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Humboldt. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Burial will be held in Union Cemetery in Ottosen. www.masonlindhart.com
