Bernadine H. Loebach, 102, of Humboldt, passed away December 9, 2013 at her home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Humboldt. A celebration of life service and interment will be held in the spring.
Bernadine Henrietta Hoefer, the daughter of John Henry and Gertrude (Venteicher) Hoefer, was born January 21, 1911 at Blunt, South Dakota. She was united in marriage to Godfrey Loebach on April 14, 1936 at Blunt, South Dakota. The couple made their home near Whittemore, Iowa where they farmed until their retirement. In 1972, they moved to Humboldt. Mr. Loebach passed away in 1993 and Bernadine continued to maintain her home until her death on the evening of December 9, 2013 at the age of 102.
Mrs. Loebach was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church where she was active in St. Mary’s Society. She enjoyed cooking and especially loved quilting.
Bernadine is survived by her children, Karen (Jim) Derner of Phoenix, AZ, Marleen Loebach of Argyle, TX, Lyle (Barb) Loebach of Oklahoma City, OK, and Tom (Carol) Loebach of Spirit Lake; 11 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren; and her sister, Leona Bevolden of Red Lake Falls, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Gertrude (Venteicher) Hoefer; husband Godfrey Loebach; son, Marvin Loebach; 4 brothers; and 4 sisters.
The Loebach family requests memorials be made to Hospice or to St. Mary’s Church as Mass offerings. Food donations are also encouraged to the food bank.
