Bernadine M. Kissinger, 93, of Humboldt, passed away October 24, 2012 at the Humboldt Care Center North. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday October 29, 2012 at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Humboldt with Don Connor officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Humboldt. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Sunday at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt.
Bernadine M. Kissinger, the daughter of Frank and Ethel (Anderson) Baessler was born September 6, 1919 on the family farm near Livermore. She was baptized and confirmed at the First Presbyterian Church in Livermore. She graduated from Livermore High School and then attended AIB Business College in Des Moines. In 1940 she married Tommy Kissinger at her parents farm home near Livermore. While Tommy was in the service Bernadine worked at the Messenger Printing Company in Fort Dodge. After Tommy returned from the service, the couple moved to a farm near Livermore and farmed there until retiring and moving to Humboldt in 1989. While living on the farm Bernadine worked for the Livermore Cooperative Elevator for 27 years retiring in 1983. Bernadine was a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star, a life member of the Hospital Auxiliary and a life member of the Humboldt Historical Society spending many hours helping at the museum.
Bernadine in survived by her children; Shirley (Robert) Aure of Spirit Lake, Dennis (Mary) Kissinger of Brooklyn, Cheryl (Merlin) Graaf of Humboldt; grandchildren, Todd Aure, Dana Aure, Jason Kissinger, Mindy Kissinger Peterson, Chad Graaf, Michelle Graaf; great-grandchildren, Cody, Laynie, Ella, Elizabeth, Oliva, Hayden, Lauren, Lukas and Madelyn. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Tommy in 1992.
