Betty G. Gronbach, 87, of Bode, passed away May 3, 2009, at the Humboldt Care Center North. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Livermore. Visitation with the family will be from 10 – 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Livermore. The Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home of Humboldt is in charge of arrangements.
Betty is survived by her son and three daughters, Marilyn (Don) Christianson of Bode, Pat (John) Wagner of Humboldt, Teri Kayser of Garner, and Don Gronbach of Corpus Christi, TX; 9 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Kelly Gronbach; sister, Bonnie Smith; and brother, Maurice Olson.
Betty Olson, the daughter of John and Doris (Hoag) Olson, was born October 9, 1921 at Arnold, Iowa. She received her education and graduated from Livermore High School. On November 10, 1939, she was united in marriage to Kelly Gronbach and the couple made their home at Livermore all of their married lives. Following the death of her husband in 1986, Betty made her home at Bode. She became a resident of the Humboldt Care Center North in April of this year. She passed away there on the morning of May 3, 2009 at the age of 87.
Betty was truly loved by her grandchildren. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Livermore and the Livermore American Legion Auxiliary.
