Beulah G. Damsteter, 96 passed away Sunday, February 8th at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital in the Long Term Care Unit. Funeral services will be at the Mason-Lindhart funeral home on Saturday February 13th at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Gene Broughton of Our Saviours Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be at the Union Cemetery in Humboldt. Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday February 13 at the funeral home.
Beulah was born on March 31, 1913 in Dakota City, Iowa to Simon and Hannah Nielson. After moving to Hope, North Dakota Beulah attended school at Blabon, ND with her brothers and sisters. After school she held various domestic and clerking positions with different organizations, including the U.S. Post Exchange in Highland Park, Illinois, National Foods, Sisson’s Nursing Home, and Clayton’s Variety Store all in Humboldt. After her retirement in 1975 she enjoyed her family, knitting and crocheting. In her lifetime she made over eighty-six afghans giving most of her work to friends and family. She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. Beulah will be remembered by all for her kind and caring ways, and a smile that radiated sincerity and warmth.
Beulah is survived by her daughter Cheryl Damstetter (Michael Stevenson), son Robert Damstetter (Laura), grandchildren, Sean Stevenson, Scott (Amanda), Elizabeth, Brianna, and Mickie Damstetter, one great granddaughter Catherine Damstetter, her sister, Dolores Hoffman of Valley City, North Dakota, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in her death by her parents Simon and Hannah Nielson, sisters, Gladys Johnson, Viona Messingham, Thelma Eversoll, LaDonna Darby and brothers, Verlin, Orville, Vincent, Maynard and Lowell Nielson and a son James Damstetter.
