Yvonne “Bonnie” M. Christianson, 78, of Bode, passed away January 18, 2018 at the Humboldt Care Center South. Funeral services will be 11 am Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Bode. Visitation is from 9:30-11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. The Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Yvonne “Bonnie” M. Christianson was born February 19, 1939 at Lockport, New York to Eli and Bernestine (Bolton) DuBois. She was raised in upstate New York until the age of 13 when she moved with her family to Bode, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Gerald “Jerry” Christianson and the couple made their home in Bode all of their married lives.
For many years, Bonnie worked as a waitress at the Imperial Café in Bode. She was then employed at Snap-On Tools before receiving her cosmetology degree and establishing Bonnie’s Style Right in Bode. Before her retirement, Bonnie also operated a preschool in Bode.
Bonnie was an active member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Bode. She was also a very active member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Bode. Above all, Bonnie loved the time she spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed babysitting them as children.
Bonnie is survived by her three sons, Ron (Denise) Christianson of Bode, Dan (Frances Grell) Christianson of Galesville, WI, and Raymond (Jeanette) Christianson of Bode; 9 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; brother, Dwaine DuBois of Florida; brother, Harry “Butch” Dasen, Jr. of Utah; and sister, Carolyn Curtis of Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Gerald.
