Brenda L. Paterson, 63, of Fort Dodge, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Thursday evening, September 12, 2024.
Brenda was born March 5, 1961 in Fort Dodge, the daughter of Millard and Nellie (Dunning) Henry. She grew up in the Coleman District of Fort Dodge and attended Fort Dodge Schools and later Prairie Valley Schools in Gowrie. Brenda was united in marriage to Barry Steburg, Sr. in 1977. The couple made their home south of Dayton and Brenda worked in housekeeping at the Gowrie Care Center. As a single mother of three she returned to Fort Dodge and later Webster City. In 1998 Brenda moved back to Fort Dodge and married Jim Paterson. She was employed at Mary Ann’s Specialty Foods and the Villa Care Center, retiring in 2011. Brenda enjoyed time with her grandchildren, crocheting and her dogs.
She is survived by her former husband Jim Paterson of Fort Dodge, her children; Barry (Alisha) Steburg of Humboldt, Felisha Lindquist of Dakota City and Michael and Matt (Makayla Newsom) Lindquist both of Fort Dodge, her grandchildren; Morgan, Gary, Layla & Quincey and her sisters; Sharon Grell of Fort Dodge, Linda Blair of Webster City, Naomi Hiracheta of Fort Dodge, Deb (Roger) Timm of Pomeroy and many nieces and nephews. Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Donna Hendrickson and Cindy Handy and an infant sister Karen.
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 19th and visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time Thursday at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service in Humboldt. Burial will be at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery, Fort Dodge. www.masonlindhart.com
