Brian P. Hawks, 44, of Humboldt, passed away Tuesday at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Faith United Methodist Church wit the Rev. David Hobbs officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Humboldt. Visitation with the family will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt.
Mr. Hawks is survived by his daughters, Tanya (Joe) Flaherty of Des Moines and Tara Hawks of Fort Dodge; brother, Bruce Hawks of Pocahontas; sisters, Sharon (Mark) Delling of Humboldt, Sheryl Dayton of Pocahontas, Shelly (Jim) Marine of Pocahontas, and Shery (Chester) Squires of Shenandoah; and many nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bill Hawks and Bob Hawks; nephew, Shane; and great nephew, Preston.
Brian Patrick Hawks, the son of William and Ruth (Singleton) Hawks, was born March 18, 1965 at Havelock. He was raised and educated in the Pocahontas area and following his education began working at Montgomery Ward in Pocahontas. He then moved to Storm Lake where he was employed at IBP and later Bilmar. He later moved back to Pocahontas where he took up mechanical work. In 2006 Brian moved to Humboldt where he was employed by Humboldt Sausage now Liguria Food Inc. Mr. Hawks loved working on cars, especially Mustangs. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, listening to music, and spending time with his nieces and nephews.
