Carol J. Johnson, 59, of Bode passed away on Friday, July 3, 2020 at her home in Bode.
Carol was born on November 17, 1960 in Fort Dodge, the daughter of Wilbur and Janice (Christianson) Johnson. She grew up in Humboldt County and graduated from Twin Rivers High School in 1979. She attended Sioux City Barber College and obtained her barber’s license. She later graduated from Iowa Central Community College with an Accounting Associate’s Degree in 2018. Carol worked for Godberson-Smith Construction Company, Offut Air Force Base at the main barber shop in Omaha, Regal Barber Shop beginning in 1990 until she bought the shop in 2000 and continued to run it until 2018, she then worked at Norm’s General Store in Bode until 2019. Carol was strong in her faith and church, enjoyed reading, crocheting, macramé, puzzles and was a self-proclaimed Hallmark Movie junkie. Her family was very important to her.
Carol is survived by her children, Michael (Erica) Hinkel, Kevin Hinkel and Michael Johnson, siblings Diana (Bill Winker) Aadland of Loveland Colorado, Kim Sebert of Webster City and Larry (Tony Sanchez) Johnson. She is preceded in death by her parents.
A private family service will be held on Monday, July 6, 2020 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Bode.
