Carol O’Donnell, 57, of Humboldt, passed away April 8, 2009 at her home. Visitation with the family will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt. Private family graveside services will be held on Saturday at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Humboldt.
Carol is survived by her husband, James O’Donnell of Humboldt; daughter, Cassie (Ricky) Cofer of Humboldt; granddaughter, Hailey Cofer; mother, Margaret Eggerich of Humboldt; brothers, Mark Eggerich of Ascension Island, and Kurt Eggerich of Gilmore City; step-daughters, Cindy Buffington of Friend, WI, and Julie Garside of Justin, TX; 4 step-grandchildren; and niece Kursten Eggerich. Her father, Fritz Eggerich and stepson, Jimmy O’Donnell, preceded her in death.
Carol Elizabeth Eggerich, the daughter of Fritz and Margaret (Klug) Eggerich, was born November 1, 1951 at Willoughby, Ohio. She was raised and educated at Amherst, OH where she graduated from Marion Steele High School in 1970 and was employed in a Chevrolet dealership. The family moved to Humboldt and Carol was employed by her father in Eggerich Chevrolet-Buick. She was united in marriage to James O’Donnell on September 18, 1981. To this union a daughter Cassie was born. The family made their home at Humboldt and Carol was employed in the Girl Scouts of America Office in Fort Dodge, the Chevrolet dealership in Fort Dodge, Misty Harbor, and One Stop Travel in Humboldt.
Carol was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She especially enjoyed caring for her dogs and also enjoyed flowers, arts and crafts, and automobiles.
