Carol Ann Russell, 82, of Humboldt, passed away May 2, 2018 at the Humboldt Care Center South. Memorial services will be 11 am Saturday, May 5, 2018 in the chapel of the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt. Visitation is from 10-11 am Saturday at the funeral home.
Carol is survived by her daughter, Linda (Steve) Illg of Dakota City; sons, Gary Webb of Camp Douglas, WI, Mike Webb of Houston, TX, Rick Webb of Grand Marsh, WI, and Todd (Kris) Russell of Livermore; grandchildren, Celine (Kyle) Sigel, Jessica Webb, Tanner Illg, Tate Illg, Brandon Illg, Drake Russell, Zane (McKennan Myott) Russell, Myndi (Jake) Hilsabeck, Amber Webb, and Jerry Webb; great grandchildren, Oria Webb, Onika Webb, Willow Gorham, Trace Hilsabeck, and Aslynn Hilsabeck; sisters, Evelyn Kahila, Mary Lou Brozzo, and Jeanette DeWitt; and brothers, Jerry Grenfell, and Jack Grenfell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger; her parents; sisters, Jane Niemi, Cordelia Johnson, Ethel Grenfell, Gloria Wiedemier, and Betty Grace Grenfell; and brothers, Earl, Tom, and Bob Grenfell.
Carol Ann Russell, one of 13 children of Richard and Grace Grenfell, was born December 4, 1935 at Ramsey, Michigan. She received her education at Bessemer, Michigan, graduating in 1953. Following graduation, she was united in marriage to Dean Webb. The couple had three children together, Gary, Mike, and Rick Webb. The marriage was later dissolved. In 1962, Carol was united in marriage to Roger Russell. The couple had two children together, Linda and Todd Russell. The family made their home in Humboldt, Iowa in 1968. Carol was a homemaker for many years and also worked as a cook at Born Free Motor Coach and a convenience store clerk. Carol enjoyed bowling, playing cards, gambling, camping, and fishing. Carol enjoyed babysitting and spending time with her grandchildren and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
