Clinton B. Gifford, 36, of Iowa City, formerly Fort Dodge, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Iowa City on Thursday, June 27, 2024.
Clint was born July 15, 1987 in Fort Dodge the son of Danny L Gifford and Kimberly R. Bjornson. He lived for a time near Ottosen and then moved to Fort Dodge where he was raised and educated, graduating from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 2006 where he was involved in football and track. He enlisted in the Army National Guard and served his country in Afghanistan. Following his discharge, he returned to Fort Dodge, later moved to Burlington and then the Twin Cities before making Iowa City his home. Clint had a long career with Hy-Vee Food Stores in the communities he called home. He enjoyed camping, hunting, the outdoors, video gaming with friends; Eric, Carlin, Jordie and Tommie, WWF and was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes and Las Vegas Raiders fan.
Clinton is survived by his mother Kim Gifford of Fort Dodge, his father Dan Gifford of Spencer, his brothers Spencer Gifford of Burnsville, Minnesota and Slater Gifford of Marion, Iowa, his grandmother Arla Gifford of Algona, numerous aunts and uncles and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Jack Gifford and his grandparents Charlotte and Bernie Bjornson.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 6th at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Bode. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the church. Please wear Iowa Hawkeye or Las Vegas Raiders attire. Burial with military honors by the Sathers-Odgaard VFW & American Legion will be in St. Olaf Cemetery, Bode.
