Connie Penton, 48, of Humboldt, passed away June 12, 2009 at her home. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Oak Hill Baptist Church in Humboldt with the Rev. Richard Lauger officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
Connie Penton, the daughter of Lyle T. and Donna (Meyer) Penton, was born April 22, 1961 at Colorado Springs, Colorado. She graduated from LuVerne High School and attended Des Moines Area Community College where she received her secretarial degree. Connie made her home at Humboldt where she worked for Dodgen Industries until an injury led to her retirement. She returned to LuVerne where she made her home with her parents. Following the death of her parents, Connie returned to Humboldt.
Connie was a member of the Oak Hill Baptist Church where she had been active with the prayer chain and had assisted with Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She enjoyed garage sales, working with her computer, and crafts. Above all she enjoyed caring for her cats.
Connie is survived by her sisters and brother, Virginia (Leon Butler) Penton of Des Moines, Cassandra Penton of Des Moines, Patrick (Diane) Penton of Fayetteville, AR, and Roxanne (Dominic, Sr.) Formaro of Des Moines; nieces and nephews, Katie, Melissa, Dan, Julie, Amy, Brian, Jordan, Joseph, Dominic, Jr., Adrienne, and Frank; and special friend and neighbor, Natasha Hickox and her children, Anastasia and Madelyn.
