Craig D. "Spud" Vote

Craig D. “Spud” Vote, 66, of Livermore, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday afternoon, March 31, 2024 at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital in Humboldt.

Craig was born April 25, 1957 in Fort Dodge, the son of Daniel “Swede” and Jean (Maupin) Vote.  He was raised and educated in Bradgate and attended Gilmore City-Bradgate High School.  He worked for a time in the family business, Vote House Moving.  He was united in marriage to Sandra K. Lee on April 12, 1980 in Humboldt.  The couple made their home in Gilmore City and shortly thereafter moved to Livermore.   Spud worked for Blacktop Service for over 40 years, retiring in January of this year.  He loved to fish, enjoyed hunting, gardening and raising vegetables and riding his Harley Davidson.  Spud was very “hands on” and mechanically inclined, there wasn’t a problem he couldn’t solve or a piece of equipment he could not fix.

Spud is survived by his wife Sandy, sons Jason (Alysia) Vote of Livermore, Jacob (Savannah) Vote of Gilmore City, his grandchildren; Regan, Sage, Dane, Lindy, Jaycee, Julian, Titus, Ike, Ian and Nevaeh, his great-grandchildren Elias and Theodore and his sister Becky (Larry) Junkman of Rockwell City.  He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Teyia, brother Hubert and his nephews Darrell Vote and Rick Junkman.
