David L. Heidt, 61, of Humboldt, passed away February 26, 2015 at the Humboldt Care Center North. Private family graveside services will be held at Indian Mound Cemetery, Humboldt.
David is survived by his mother, Vivian of Humboldt; his sister, Virginia (Steven) Ehrhardt of Dakota City; brother, Paul Heidt of Humboldt; nephews, Christopher, Kevin, and Jonathan Ehrhardt, and Kyle Heidt. He was preceded in death by his father, Merle Heidt; sister, Vickie Heidt; and an infant niece, Emily Ehrhardt.
David L. Heidt, the son of Merle and Vivian (Koob) Heidt, was born September 6, 1953 at Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was raised and educated at Humboldt and graduated from Humboldt High School in 1972. Following his education, David worked as a machinist for Hanisch Mfg, Gold Star Mfg. at Laurens, King Company in Minnesota, and Bobalee Hydraulics in Laurens until his retirement in 2009.
David was an avid outdoorsman enjoying fishing, hunting, and camping, including a trip to Yellowstone. He loved caring for his cat and taking it for a walk.
