David D. Nauerth, 56, of Columbus Junction, passed away at his home on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 following a lengthy illness.
David was born on May 20, 1964 to Joy Mae (Smith) Nauerth
Collins Rurup and Larry Dwayne Nauerth in Moberly Missouri.
David was raised in Humboldt Iowa where he met and married
Pamela Jean Weier on July 21st, 1985. They were married right
after David finished boot camp and before his first assignment.
They have 3 sons: Jeffrey Dwayne Nauerth (Shalene) of Ankeny,
Iowa, Joel Adam Nauerth of Columbus Junction, Iowa and Thomas
Andrew Nauerth of Columbus Junction. At the time of David’s
death on November 24th, they had 3 grandchildren, Jarek, Ethan,
and Sadie Nauerth.
David held many jobs over the years, the longest was while in the
military, including a year stationed in Korea. The jobs he enjoyed
most involved welding. David’s real job (though not income
producing) was caring for his wife and raising his boys. He loved
his family and felt that was the most important role of his life.
David enjoyed guns, fishing, hunting, woodworking, making ammo,
shooting, blacksmithing – making knives. David loved music,
building things, watching the History Channel, and scary movies.
He was an outdoor person. A huge part of David’s daily life was
spending time with their dogs. He loved his dogs.
David was preceded in death by his parents, beloved dog Izzy, and
nephew Brad Wolf.
Visitation is Monday, November 30 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the 1:00 p.m. funeral service at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service in Humboldt. Burial will be in Indian Mound Cemetery.
