Dawn Anderson, 59, of Sartell, Minnesota, formerly of Humboldt, passed away at her home in Sartell. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 6, 2014 in the chapel of the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt. Visitation is from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial is in Union Cemetery, Livermore.
Dawn is survived by her sister, Denise (Dwight) Samson of Sartell, MN; nieces Jennifer (David) Hengel and Cassandra Samson; and great niece and nephews, Jack Hengel, Natalie Rose Hengel, and Benjamin Hengel. Her parents preceded her in death.
Dawn Anderson, the daughter of Donald and Donna (Smith) Anderson, was born November 7, 1955 at Britt, Iowa. She was raised at Livermore and attended school in Humboldt. Following her education, Dawn was active in the Opportunity Center in Livermore. In 1982, Dawn moved to Humboldt where she enjoyed her independence and the friendships she made at the group homes. Dawn was very active at the Humboldt Workshop where she did work for the Humboldt Reminder and helped with the recycling program among many other tasks. She took great pride in her janitorial work for Northwest Bank for many years. She participated in the Special Olympics and cherished the many ribbons she won in the softball throw competition. She loved collecting purses and seeing her name in the paper. She especially loved her great niece and nephews.
In 2010, she moved with her mother to Sartell, Minnesota to be close to her sister, Denise. She passed away there peacefully at the age of 59.
