Dean Schultz, 62, of Bradgate, passed away March 16, 2014 at the Humboldt Care Center North. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Faith United Methodist Church in Gilmore City with the Rev. Charles Luers officiating. Interment will be in Marble Valley Cemetery, Gilmore City. Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt.
Dean is survived by his brother, Kim Schultz of Bradgate; sisters, Beverly Schultz of Friendship Haven, JoAnn Henrichs of Pioneer, and Rhonda Olson of Fort Dodge; 3 nieces; and 1 nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Doris (Wallace) Schultz; his brothers, Gary and Greg; and his nephew, Jamie Henrichs.
Dean Schultz, the son of John and Doris (Wallace) Schultz, was born June 14, 1951 at Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was raised at Bradgate and attended school at Bradgate and Eagle Grove. Following his education, Dean helped his father in the construction business for many years.
Dean made his home at Bradgate most of his life where he enjoyed taking walks around town, swimming in the Bradgate pits, and singing at the Faith United Methodist Church. Later in life, Dean made his home at Humboldt where, following the death of his father, Dean was employed by the Humboldt Workshop. He enjoyed the jobs he was assigned to, especially at Satern Service. He also enjoyed bowling and was proud of his high game of 278. Eventually, Dean became a resident of the Humboldt Care Center North where he continued his love of visiting with people and participated in many activities, including church services, bingo, exercising, card playing, and ice cream. He passed away there peacefully on the evening of March 16, 2014 at the age of 62.
Memorials may be made to the Gilmore City Faith United Methodist Church.
