Humboldt – Dee (Doris) A. Lilly, 82, formerly of Humboldt passed away Nov. 18, 2010 at the Eldora Care Center. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Sat. Nov. 27 at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home of Humboldt with interment at Saint Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 – 8 pm Fri. at the funeral home.
Dee Martin was born to James and Anna (Shull) Martin on Dec 9, 1927 at Quincy, IL. Her father passed away when she was 13 and her mother when she was 16, she was raised by an aunt and uncle. She was united in marriage to Roy Lee Wood on Dec. 8, 1945 and to this union was born Lester Lee, Rodney Gale and Rebekah Elaine. This marriage was later dissolved. She was united in marriage to Charles Lee Lilly on Feb. 4, 1954 and to this union was born Jennifer (Ginger) Lyn.
Dee is survived by her sons; Lester (Mary Ellen) Lilly, of Meservey, IA, Rodney Lilly of Donnellson, IA and daughter Ginger (Paul) Hinners of Queen City, MO., 12 Grandchildren and 18 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles Lilly, brothers James and Hugo Martin, daughter Rebekah (Becky), two great grand children, Tyler and Ava.
Dee worked at M.L. Parker Dept. Store, for Coca-Cola Company, cleaned houses and was a line operator at CRL Components (Globe Union) for many years and held many offices in the union. She loved to decorate cakes and was a member of St. Mary’s Parish of Humboldt, IA.
