Delbert L. Williams, 80, of Humboldt, passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2019 at the Villa Care Center in Fort Dodge.
He was born January 19, 1939 in Pocahontas, Iowa, the son of Morris and Margaret (Gruis) Williams. He started his career as a masonry contractor early in life, working for concrete products and later Hubert Stone. He married Beverly Benjamin on February 12, 1956. Delbert many times worked two jobs to support his family, driving a milk truck out of Goldfield and doing masonry work in his spare time. Following Beverly’s death he was united in marriage to Gloria Terwilliger in 1982. He loved to fish, go garage saleing and attend auctions. He will be remembered as big hearted and for the neighborhood softball games as his children were growing up.
He is survived by his children, Calvin (Judy) Williams of Lytton, Iowa, Colleen (Bill) Miller of Lu Verne, his grandchildren, Adam, Allyson & Andrew, one great-grandson, Jaxson, five step children, 15 step-grandchildren and 18 step-great-grandchildren, his brothers, Duane Williams of Humboldt and Dick (Pat) Williams of Blairsburg. He was preceded in death by his parents, both spouses, Beverly and Gloria, an infant son, Mark, his brothers, Roger and Bill his sister, Delores Koob and two infant sisters, Linda and Lila.
Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29th at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 30th at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Humboldt. Burial will be in Union Cemetery.
