Dennis Dale Janssen, the son of Henry and Lena (Weber) Janssen, was born March 22, 1938 on the family farm near Gilmore City. He received his education at Bradgate and graduated from Bradgate High School in 1957. On June 30, 1957, he was united in marriage to Norma Thoden at the Zion Lutheran Church in Beaver Township. Dennis farmed briefly before going in to the anhydrous storage tank business which took him all around the country. He then began his career in the trucking business, first for Brazos hauling sheetrock, then for Yacht Club Trailers where he remained until his retirement in 2004. In February of 2004, Norma passed away and he continued to maintain his home in Humboldt.
Dennis was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Humboldt. He enjoyed traveling which included fishing and bowling trips. “Tomahawk” as he was known on the CB never met a stranger and enjoyed meeting new people everywhere he went. Above all, Dennis loved the time he spent with his family.
