Dennis M. Renquist, 73, of Humboldt, passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at Bickford Cottage in Fort Dodge following a lengthy illness.
Dennis was born June 10, 1951 in Fort Dodge, the son of John M. and Anne (Malkmus) Renquist. He grew up on a farm near Livermore and graduated from Twin Rivers High School in 1969. Dennis worked as a farm hand for the Underberg’s growing up and furthered his education at Iowa Central Community College studying elevator management. He started his employment at P & M Stone and later went on to become a welder at Chantland Manufacturing for almost forty years, retiring in 2012. Dennis enjoyed Road Runner Cars, NASCAR, collecting farm toys, attending toy shows and time with his dogs, Blackie and Theodore.
Dennis is survived by his sisters Mary (Alan) Tofteberg and Jane (Bob) McBurney both of Humboldt, his nieces and nephews; Tony McBurney and Joanna (Sam) Byrd of Lebanon, Tennessee, Joe (Emily) McBurney of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, Shane Tofteberg, Sarah (Trent) Chambers and Josh (Abbey) McBurney all of Humboldt, as well as, several great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28th at St. Mary Catholic Church in Humboldt. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a parish rosary at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday, August 27th at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service in Humboldt.
