Diane M. Arnold, 57 of Humboldt, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday morning, August 28. 2021.
She was born December 29, 1963 in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the daughter of William and Kathryn (Asa) Marchant. She grew up in Gilmore City and graduated in 1982 from Gilmore City–Bradgate High School. Diane made her home in Gilmore City for many years where she owned and operated Arnold’s Bar and served as an EMT on the Gilmore City Ambulance Service. She later had the 10th Hole Bar and Restaurant in Rolfe. In 2014 she moved to Humboldt and worked for West Fork Services, now LifeWorks and was a host home for Mosaic. She enjoyed watching the Chicago Bears, was on a bowling league, enjoyed playing cards and competed in many cribbage tournaments.
Diane is survived by her daughters Shauna (Garrett) Oberhelman of Dakota City and Stacy (Kris) Gilley of Humboldt, her grandchildren Jaelynn, Dakohta, Daxtyn, Taeleigh, Josilyn, Aysah, Neva and Marvin, her mother Kathy Cavanaugh of Gilmore City, her brothers Denny (Janice) Marchant of Rutland, Ron (Liza) Marchant of Humboldt and her sisters Karen Sorensen of Humboldt and Judy (Denny Davis) Marchant of Gilmore City. She was preceded in death by her father William, step-father James “Pat” Cavanaugh and brother-in-law Larry Sorensen.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 3rd at Faith United Methodist Church in Humboldt. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 2nd at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Gilmore City.
