Donald Christianson, 83, of Bode, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2020 at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge.
He was born January 11, 1937 in Bode the son of Arthur and Esther (Rolland) Christianson. He was raised and educated in Bode graduating from Twin Rivers High School in 1957. Don was united in marriage to Marilyn B. Gronbach on January 2, 1959 in Livermore. In December of 1959 he was drafted into the United States Army. Following his discharge from the service he returned home to Bode and drove truck, first for Standard Oil then Con Agra for over 40 years. He had volunteered on the Bode Fire Department for 37 years. In retirement he worked as a truck driver for the Bode Cooperative. He especially enjoyed time with family and his grandchildren, trap shooting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn, his children Todd (Andrea Hammersley) Christianson of Erie, Colorado and Trudie (Scott) Rothmeyer of Denver, Iowa, his grandchildren Thor and Hans Christianson & Keaton and Kenna Rothmeyer, his brother Chris (Melinda) Christianson of Naples, Florida and his sister-in-law Alice Christianson of California. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Richard, James and Virgil and his sisters Bernice, Ardis and Ruth.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 13th at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Bode. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Facial coverings are required at the church. Burial with military rites by the Sathers-Odgaard American Legion will be in St. Olaf Cemetery.
