Donald E. Faltinson, 75, of Dakota City, passed away on Thursday, October 8th, 2020 at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital.
He was born January 11, 1945 in Fort Dodge, the son of Vernon and Carla (Steffenson) Faltinson. He grew up in Bode and graduated from Twin Rivers High School. Don continued his education at Buena Vista receiving his bachelor degree. He was united in marriage to Lori Hauck on July 7, 1984 in Bode. They raised two children; step-son Jeremy Hauck of Dakota City and Jenna (Jake) Hilton of Badger.
He owned and operated Storm Lake Truck Stop, worked for Yoder Feeds the New Co-op, and The State Veterinarian. He served on the City Council of Dakota City for sixteen years and was Dakota City’s mayor for six years. Don enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren, his horses and raising Elk.
Don is survived by his wife Lori, stepson Jeremy Hauck, daughter Jenna, son-in-law Jake, grandchildren: Cortney, Landon, Liam, Harper, great-granddaughter Adaline, nephew Greg Faltinson and mother-in-law Neva Helvick. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother James, his twin infant sisters, and his nephew Brad Faltinson.
Visitation will be at Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home Monday, October 12th 5:00-7:30PM. Funeral Services will be at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Bode Tuesday, October 13th at 11:00AM.
