Donna Mae Stamper, 87, of Humboldt, passed away August 25, 2010 at her home. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Faith United Methodist Church in Humboldt with the Rev. Jan Burnett officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Humboldt. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt.
Mrs. Stamper is survived by her daughters, Betty (Jerry) Myers of Humboldt, Bonnie (Don) Eldridge of Jolley, and Peggy (John) Slawson of Gilmore City; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; brother, Richard Hewitt of Humboldt; sisters, Marjorie Wendt of Manly, Nadine Wolfe of West Bend, and Beverly Halsrud of Humboldt. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; her daughter, Lois Stamper; grandsons, Jerry J. Newton and Zachary Eldridge; 7 sisters; and 5 brothers.
Donna Mae Hewitt, the daughter of Hiram and Claris Mae (Stoddard) Hewitt, was born October 29, 1922 at Livermore, Iowa. She received her education and was united in marriage to Donald Stamper. The couple made their home on a farm near Gilmore City where they farmed and raised their four daughters. In 1973, they retired from farming and moved to Humboldt where Donna was employed at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital for 12 years. Mr. Stamper passed away in June on 1993 and Donna continued to make her home in Humboldt until her death.
Donna was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church. She enjoyed card playing, flower gardening, her dogs, and was known for her wonderful tomatoes.
