Doris Adams, 96 of Humboldt, passed away on Monday, August 5, 2019 in Humboldt.
Doris Lillian Adams, daughter of Thomas and Lucile (Briggs) Davidson was born in Duncombe, Iowa on December 8, 1922. She received her education in the Duncombe schools and Fort Dodge Tobin Business College. Following her education, she was employed in Fort Dodge until being united in marriage to Horace Dwight Adams of Humboldt at the Congregational Church in Webster City, Iowa on March 2, 1947. They made their home on the family farm between Humboldt and Gilmore City until moving to Springvale Senior Living facility of Humboldt in September of 2009. Doris was a fantastic cook, she enjoyed gardening and shared many of her homemade goodies with others. She volunteered with her husband for many years with the Humboldt County local Your Own United Resources delivering food to families. Her husband Horace passed away January 22, 2014.
Those left to cherish her memory are Charles of Humboldt; Donald (Kathleen) Milton, Massachusetts; Carol (Richard) Spalding of Newburgh, Indiana; Robert (Valoyce) of St. Charles, Illinois; and Alice (Michael) Heinrichs of Webster City, Iowa. 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Doris is preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Lucile Davidson, her brother Donald Davidson, and her husband Horace.
A service to memorialize Doris will take place at the Faith United Methodist Church in Humboldt, Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. with a visitation held one-hour prior.
