Doris Elaine (Parsons) Logue, 94, passed away after a brief illness at Humboldt County Memorial Hospital on April 8, 2024.
Doris, daughter of Edward and Cora (Kinseth) Parsons, was born September 7, 1929 in Bode, Iowa. After spending first grade in Bode, the family moved to Humboldt where she graduated with the class of 1947. She worked at Northwestern Bell Telephone Co for a year, attended Morningside College, then returned to the telephone office. On October 8, 1950, she was united in marriage to Donald Logue at the First Lutheran Church in Humboldt. They lived in Long Beach, Mississippi, Livermore, and over 60 years in Humboldt.
An avid reader, she enjoyed spending time at the library and book clubs. She volunteered at the Long-Term Care Unit at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital for many years. She also loved family gatherings and was an outstanding cook.
She is survived by her daughter, Diane (Gary Westphal) of Ankeny, Iowa, and son Donald II of Chandler, Arizona. Grandchildren Brooke (Nate) Gould of Ankeny, Iowa, Michael Westphal (Amanda) of Grimes, Iowa, Alexandra Logue of Kirkland, Washington, Thomas Logue of Phoenix, Arizona, and great-grandchild, Daniel Gould of Ankeny, Iowa. Also, brother Larry (Jean) Parsons of Saxonberg, Pennsylvania and several nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by husband, Don in 2019, an infant daughter, parents, brother Claire Parsons, and sisters Violet Frohling and Fran Tideback.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 11th at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Humboldt. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at church. Family burial will be in Union Cemetery, Humboldt. The Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service of Humboldt is in charge of the arrangements. www.masonlindhart.com
