Dorothy Walsh, 93, of Humboldt, passed away September 9, 2008 at Chaska, MN. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt. Visitation is 1 hour prior to the services.
Dorothy Bothwell was born February 5, 1915 at Gilmore City, Iowa. She received her education there and graduated from Gilmore City High School. She was united in marriage to William Walsh and the couple made their home in the Pioneer and Gilmore City area. Dorothy worked as a homemaker raising the couple’s two daughters, Sharon and Mary Ann, while Bill farmed until his retirement. In their retirement, they made their home near Rolfe where Bill continued to farm part-time helping area farmers. Mr. Walsh passed away in 1982 and Dorothy then made her home at Humboldt. In 1998, with Dorothy’s health failing, she became a resident of a care facility in Chaska, MN to be close to family in the Twin City area.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann Cazes of Santa Rosa, CA; son-in-law, Ralph (Mary) Himrod of Eagan, MN; granddaughters, Joan Gage, Susan (Tom) Strigel, Kelly Ann (Larry) Littleton, and Julie (Joseph) Hesse; and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Walsh; daughter, Sharon Himrod; sister, Mary Strachan; and brothers, Donovan and Russell Bothwell.
