He was preceded in death by his mother, Donna Schipull.
Douglas Stanley Schipull, the son of Stanley and Donna (Hill) Schipull, was born May 2, 1953 at Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was raised on the family farm north of Renwick and attended school in Renwick. Following his graduation from Boone Valley High School, Doug attended and graduated from Buena Vista College in Storm Lake.
Doug was united in marriage to Cathy White on October 2, 1976 at the Renwick United Methodist Church. The couple made their home in Des Moines where Doug worked as an accountant for Vitalis and Ruan Truck Lines. In 1991, he accepted the position of Account Manager for Humboldt Red Power and the family moved first to Dakota City and then to Humboldt.
Doug loved spending time with his grandsons and the three would often play “red tractors”. He enjoyed caring for his dog, Abby, who he loved to take for walks and who became his “third princess” after his daughters were grown. He also enjoyed riding his Harley and following the Iowa Hawkeyes.
