Edna M. (Myers) Holden, 95 of Humboldt, passed away on Saturday evening, February 2, 2019 at the Humboldt Care Center North.
She was born May 21, 1923 in Humboldt County, the daughter of Anton and Ottlia (Neppel) Hoffman. She attended St. Mary’s School and graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1941. Edna was united in marriage to Robert Myers on December 25, 1941 in Kansas City. The couple made their home in Nebraska and then moved to Dakota City in 1946. She worked for the Humboldt Reminder for many years, but then served as secretary and treasurer for Humboldt Mutual Insurance where she served for 26 years. Following the death of Robert, she married Miles Holden in 1981. She especially enjoyed her Springer Spaniels, snowmobiling, camping and fishing.
She is survived by her son, R.J. Myers of Humboldt, her step-son, Bill (Vicki) Holden of Humboldt, step-daughter, Debbie (Mark) Reiter of Minnesota, granddaughters, Michelle (Marcos) Trejos and Alesia Johnson, her great-grandchildren, Jessica Prior, Mallory Wollenburg, Miranda Johnson, Alexis Humpal, Sarah Cargin and Eric Cargin as well as, several great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert M. Myers and Miles Holden, her brothers, Herman and Joseph Hoffman and her sisters, Tillie, Valeria and Angelina Hoffman.
Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until the time of the 1:00 p.m. Funeral Service on Tuesday, February 5th at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt. Burial will be in Indian Mound Cemetery. Memorials in her name may be made to Unity Point Hospice.
