Edward Joseph Ehrhardt, 87, passed away November 3, 2009 in Sulpher Springs, Texas. He was a long-time resident of Humboldt, Iowa and Sulpur Springs, Texas. A Memorial Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 30, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Humboldt. The Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home of Humboldt is assisting the family.
Mr. Ehrhardt was born on February 16, 1922 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was the son of Raymond and Julia (Goodridge) Ehrhardt. He joined the 21st Infantry Regiment on December 26, 1942 and served in New Guinea and the Phillipeans during World War II. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army on January 8, 1946. He married Norma Himrod on April 27, 1946 in Humboldt, Iowa.
Through his life he worked as a purchasing agent for P&M Stone Co. and sold cars in Humboldt before moving to Sulphur Springs, TX in 1977.
He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Jim Vought of Rutland; daughter, Janice Limerick of College Station, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Tom Turbiville of College Station, TX; and son and daughyer-in-law, Jerry "Fuzz" and Shelly Ehrhardt of Humboldt, Ia. He is survived by 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Jill Lens; and brothers, Duane and Art Ehrhardt.
