Edward N. Mersch, 104 of Humboldt, passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at the Humboldt Care Center South.
He was born October 19, 1915 in West Bend, Iowa the son of John and Anna (Buesch) Mersch. He grew up on a farm and graduated from West Bend High School. Edward was united in marriage to VaLane Pederson on December 28, 1944. The couple farmed near Hardy for many years, they later moved to Humboldt. He retired 40 years ago and loved to spend his time playing golf.
He is survived by his children, Michael (Linda) Mersch, Nancy Orbaugh and Janine (Brad) Shaull, his grandchildren, Sean, Lisa, Chad, Tina, Nicole and Adam, eleven great-grandchildren and his brothers, John (Marcy) Mersch and Nick Mersch. He was preceded in death by his wife VaLane, six brothers and two sisters.
Mass of Christian Burial for the immediate family only will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 20th at St. Mary Catholic Church in Humboldt. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. www.masonlindhart.com
