Ethel L. Pease of Humboldt, passed away February 12, 2011 at the Paula Baber Hospice House in Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Faith United Methodist Church in Humboldt with the Rev. Walden Paige officiating. Interment will be in Clinton Garfield Cemetery, Rolfe. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the Faith United Methodist Church.
Ethel Pease was born on April 18, 1930 at Havelock, Iowa to Earl and Minnie Klein. Ethel graduated from the Rolfe high school and then she went to work at a dry goods store and also at Sunnybrook restaurant. She was united in marriage to Sylvester Pease on Sept. 9, 1951. After they got married Ethel stayed at home and took care of her children. Ethel loved to garden and make greeting cards. She loved to be with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and she and Sylvester were able to enjoy 23 winters in Arizona.
Ethel is survived by her husband, Sylvester of Humboldt; children, Loren (Michelle) Pease of Mission Viejo, CA and Rosemary (Dave) Koenigsberg of Hampton, IA; grandchildren, Aaron Koenigsberg, Pete Koenigsberg, Nathan Koenigsberg, Sheena Pease, Michaela Pease, Hallie Pease, Hannah Pease; and 4 great-grandchildren, ; brother John (Janice ) Young of Rolfe, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jim Young and sister-in-law, Donna Young.
