Everett Allan Jensen, the only child of Harold and Christine (Andersen) Jensen, was born February 16, 1931 on a farm near Bode, Iowa. The family moved to a farm near Gilmore City and Everett attended country school at Unique Corner and Gilmore City High School where he graduated as President of the class of 1949. Following his education, Everett worked on area farms. He then took a temporary job with Don Schoeberlein blacktopping the roads of Humboldt County. This position turned into a 44-year career with the Humboldt County Engineers Office. He retired in June of 1994.
On March 30, 1958, he was united in marriage to Muriel Schutjer at the United Methodist Church in Titonka. To this union, two sons were born.
Everett was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church. He enjoyed the time he spent with his friends golfing, woodworking, and playing cribbage. In his retirement, Everett stayed busy making repairs around the church and helping Terry and Roger Nelson at harvest time. An outdoorsman, Everett passed on to his sons, the knowledge he had learned from his father. He also enjoyed gardening and feeding the birds, squirrels, and deer.
