F. Marjorie Daggy Kerns, 97, of Humboldt, passed away March 24, 2009 at the Long Term Care Unit of the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital.  Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at Memorial Park Cemetery, Fort Dodge followed by services at 2:00 p.m. at the Oak Hill Baptist Church in Humboldt with the Rev. Richard Lauger officiating.  Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt.
Marjorie is survived by her son, Dale (Gloria) Daggy of Humboldt; grandchildren, Ann Leigh (Bruce) Ennen of Muscatine, Brad (Jackie) Daggy of Belle Plaine, Curt (Toni) Daggy of Hudsonville, MI, Diana (Brendan) Lipps of Orange, CA, and Michele (Lee) Brown of Anaheim, CA; great-grandchildren, Brooke (Benjamin) Vrbicek of St. Louis, MO, Major Ennen of Des Moines, IA, Asa Daggy of Belle Plaine, Michaela Daggy of Ames, Cory, Jacob, and Nicole Daggy of Hudsonville, MI, and Savannah and Georgia Brown of Anaheim, CA; great-great grandchildren, Noah and Hudson Vrbicek of St. Louis, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Floyd Daggy and Dale Kerns; children, Donald, Fern, and Donovan Daggy; grandchild, Joyce Daggy; great grandchild, Mackenzie Ennen; and siblings, Harley Hasty and Jesse Hasty, Jr., and Margaret Wicks.
F. Marjorie Hasty, the daughter of Jesse and Esther (Smith) Hasty, was born May 13, 1911, in Mackinaw, Illinois the eldest of five children.  The family moved to Iowa when she was eight years old.  She continued her education at Kanawha, Iowa.  On March 14, 1929, she married Floyd Daggy in Goldfield, Iowa.  To this union four children were born, Donald, Fern, Dale, and Donovan.  Floyd passed away December 16, 1967.  On July 13, 1973 she married Dale Kerns at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.  He passed away March 30, 1981.  Marjorie worked outside the home at Johnny’s Maid Rite, Bowen’s Ben Franklin, and Anthony’s all in Humboldt, Iowa.  She was a talented and avid quilter and shared this skill with many friends.  All of her immediate family enjoys having beautiful quilts.  She was a member of the Humboldt County Historical Society.  She enjoyed traveling and playing board games.  Marjorie was very active in the Fifth Avenue Baptist Church and continued her membership at Oak Hill Baptist Church.
