Reva F. Moore, 91, of Humboldt, passed away Wednesday October 22, 2008 in the Long Term Care Unit of the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Faith United Methodist Church in Humboldt, with the Rev. Walden Paige officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Humboldt. Visitation with the family will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt.
Mrs. Moore is survived by her husband, Glenn of Humboldt; son Larry (Susan) of Humboldt; and sister, Ruth Walker of Quincy, IL. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister Dorothy Williams.
Reva Fern Mixer, the daughter of Marshall and Zelma (Pilling) Mixer was born September 10, 1917 in Clayton, Illinois. She was raised and educated in Clayton. After her education she was united in marriage to Glenn Moore on August 1, 1936. While Mr. Moore was overseas during World War II, Reva took up work at a factory and for a local dentist. Upon Glenn’s return home she began her lifelong devotion as a housewife for her husband and son. The Moore family moved to Rutland, IA in 1942 and the following year moved to Gilmore City, where they lived for over 60 years. In 2004 Reva and Glenn moved in to Springvale Assisted Living and in 2006 moved into the Long Term Care Unit of the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Moore was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church, where she was very active in church functions; she was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and of a Study Club. She enjoyed traveling, knitting, cooking, and taking care of her large garden. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made at the families discretion.
