Faith M. Johnson, 86, of Humboldt, passed away December 3, 2013 at the Scenic Manor Care Center in Iowa Falls. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 7, 2013 at the Faith United Methodist Church in Humboldt. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Humboldt. Visitation is from 1-2 p.m. Saturday at the church. The Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home of Humboldt is serving the family.
Faith is survived by her children, Kathleen (Byron) Steiber of Iowa Falls, Barbara (Dan) Kratz of Cherokee, Daniel (Carol) Johnson of Eyota, MN, and Nancy (Jeff) Filkins of Hartley; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sister, Clara Briggs of Monroe, WI; and brother, Alfred Trumpy of Madison, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Roland; her son, Richard Johnson; brother, George Trumpy; and sister, Rachael Holcomb.
Faith Marian Trumpy, the daughter of Frank and Florence (Schroeder) Trumpy, was born June 24, 1927 at Monroe, Wisconsin. She was raised on a dairy farm near Clarno, Wisconsin until moving with her family to Monroe. Following her graduation from Monroe High School, Faith was employed in the Monroe Clinic. She met Roland Johnson upon his return from the war and the couple was united in marriage on May 25, 1947. They attended the University of Wisconsin together and following their education, moved to Dubuque. On August 19, 1950, they moved their growing family to Humboldt where they owned and operated Johnson’s Department Store (formerly the A.B. White Store) for 20 years. She was then employed by the Country Porch before going to work for KHBT Radio for 26 years. In her Retirement, Faith continued to maintain her home until moving to Iowa Falls in 2009.
Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church where she was active in UMW, taught Sunday School, and started Methodist Missionary Daughters. She also enjoyed her involvement in sewing club, Business and Professional Women, and was instrumental in establishing several 4-H Clubs in Humboldt.
