Frances B. Mesicek, 94, of Humboldt, formerly of Hardy, passed away March 31, 2012 at the Humboldt Care Center North. Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Humboldt. Interment will be in Trinity Cemetery near Hardy. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the church.
Frances B. Lenning, the daughter of George and Clenora (Berg) Lenning, was born August 30, 1917 in Humboldt County. She received her education in a country school that was located on her parent’s farm and graduated from Humboldt High School. She then attended beauty school in Fort Dodge and practiced as a Beautician in Fort Dodge and Humboldt. She was united in marriage to Hubert Mesicek on October 16, 1949 at the Trinity Lutheran Church at Hardy. The couple farmed near Hardy until 1969 and in 1983, they moved to Humboldt. On October 31, 2005, she became a resident of the Humboldt Care Center North. Mr. Mesicek passed away in October of 2010.
Frances was a long time member of the Trinity Lutheran Church where she enjoyed working in the church kitchen. She was a committed farm wife and enjoyed cooking for her family and the farm crew. She will always be remembered as being dedicated and devoted to her family and her church.
Mrs. Lenning is survived by her children, John Mesicek of Palm Springs, CA, and Nilene (Frank) White of Orlando, FL; 7 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. Frances was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hubert; her son, David; her grandson, Adam; brother, Glen Lenning; and sisters, Marjorie French, Neva Mandsager, Annette Lenning, and Eunice Lenning.
