Gary B. Block

Gary B. Block, 90, formerly of Humboldt, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2024, in Las Cruces, New Mexico, where he and Jean had moved to be close to family.

Gary was born March 24, 1934, in Renwick and moved with his family at a young age to LuVerne where he attended schools and graduated high school.  He enlisted in the United States Army and served as a Corporal while stationed in Germany.  He was united in marriage to Norma Jean McFarland on June 1, 1963.  The couple made their home in Humboldt and Gary served in management capacities for several area cooperatives.  Gary was a member of Faith United Methodist Church and had been a longtime member of the Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by his wife of sixty years Norma Jean, his sons Gregory (Linda) Block of Las Cruces, New Mexico and Bradley (Cherri) Block of Custer, South Dakota, his grandchildren; Aubri, Brian, Zachary, Logan and Darian.  He was preceded in death by his daughter Pamela Kay, age 2, his parents, sisters Bev Williams and Verna Kennedy and Avis Wedge and his brothers Kenneth Robinson and Lowell Robinson.

Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 31st at Union Cemetery in Humboldt, with the Reverend Nathan Ferguson officiating.  The Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service of Humboldt is in charge of the arrangements.  www.masonlindhart.com
